Abstract Submissions
Submissions of abstracts are invited for the following categories:
• Audit and Quality Improvement papers
• Case reports
• Original clinical research papers
• Basic science papers
Abstracts should be prepared using the abstract guidance below, and submitted via the form.
New Abstract Deadline for SWEAM 2025 is 18th August 2025.
We encourage all speciality registrars and core trainees, non-training grade doctors and medical students to submit their work.
As this is a regional meeting, presenting at this meeting does not prevent you from presenting the same work at a national or international meeting.
We aim to inform authors whether or not their submissions have accepted by 25th August but please book you study leave in time. It can always be cancelled! All papers will be considered for oral presentation; those not successful will be considered for poster presentation.

Presenter Information
Presenters whose abstracts have been allocated an oral presentation should consider the following guidelines when preparing their presentations:
Presenters whose abstracts have been allocated a poster presentation should consider the following guidelines when preparing their posters:
- Ensure presentations are compatible with MS Powerpoint, however Mac support and adapters are normally available on the day.
- Oral presentations will be allocated 10 minutes each, consisting of 7 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for questions
- Timings will be strictly enforced to ensure that the programme runs on schedule so please ensure your presentation adheres to these timings
Presenters whose abstracts have been allocated a poster presentation should consider the following guidelines when preparing their posters:
- Posters should be prepared in portrait orientation, size A2 (594mm x 420mm)
- Please adhere to this so that there is sufficient space for all posters to be displayed
- We will provide everything you need to put your posters up
